Friends, we have great news for everyone who loves our city and its rich history!
To celebrate Dover’s 400th anniversary, a unique video project, “Voices of Dover,” has been launched. This project will preserve the memories of local residents about our beloved city. It is a true living history of the people, events, and traditions that make Dover special.
One or two new videos will be released each week, featuring warm, nostalgic and sometimes funny stories from townspeople. Take a look back at what our town used to look like, what stores and cafes were popular, how holidays were celebrated, and what has united Dover residents through the ages.
Hilton Descendants Reunion
And here’s another milestone: on June 24 at 11 a.m., the descendants of the Hilton family will reunite at Hilton Park, the place where our city’s history began! We’ll remember where it all began, stroll through historic sites, and just spend time with those who care about Dover.
Everyone is welcome! Bring your good spirits and a picnic basket – a great opportunity to meet new people and learn more about our town’s roots.
It cannot be overlooked that there has always been a place for good deeds in our town. For example, on May 26 at 6:30PM, South Berwick will host Rick’s Run 5K, a charity run in support of veterans. For seven years, this event has become an integral part of our community, helping those who have defended our country.
And on August 12, there will be a Cornhole Tournament, with proceeds benefiting pediatric cancer research. Last year’s goal was $3,400, and this year’s goal is as much as $10,000. Come join in, support the initiative, and contribute to the future!
True Power of Community
All of these events show that Dover is not just a dot on the map. It is a city with a living history, a strong community, and people who care about its future. We take pride in our traditions, support each other, and look forward to seeing each other again!
Stay tuned, join events, and together, we’ll make Dover even better!
